All money raised will go to help Grace’s family with the tremendous costs associated with her healthcare.

In August 2018 my sweet, kind, and amazing 8 year old niece, Grace, had her world turned upside down. Within the past 12 months, Grace’s seizures have become worse in frequency and duration and her condition is continuously worsening. Grace has already endured endless medical exams, MRI’s, and neurological testing and this will only continue until they are able to find answers.

The next step the neurology team at Children’s Mercy Hospital is planning is a very high risk brain surgery; they are scheduling a bilateral brain biopsy to confirm a diagnosis of Rasmussens Encephalitis. This is a very rare and a potentially life threatening diagnosis. Her situation is even more high risk because of her bleeding disorder. They are doing this testing because they have noticed that her brain is progressively deteriorating. As the seizures continue, so does the damage to her brain. She is currently experiencing left side paralysis for a short time after seizures, and when the paralysis subsides her strength and coordination that does return is weakening along with other symptoms.
